W.N.Lindsay was formed in 1864 by William N Lindsay in Leith.  The company was based there until 1981 when the head office was moved to Gladsmuir in East Lothian.  The company has had a long association with agriculture and shipping and has continually evolved to meet the changing demands of the marketplace.  W.N.Lindsay remains a family owned company, with the 5th generation of Lindsays working for the company today.

The company owns 2 grain stores at Gladsmuir and at Keith in Aberdeenshire and has a large merchanting presence to support the stores and to service the needs of our consumer and farmer customers.

The company is now the largest independent merchant in Scotland and is committed to supplying Scottish agriculture with a service that is unrivalled.
